{diy list: coffee bar}

{warning: I say, "coffee" just about a million times. Make it fun and like John & Sherry suggest, make it a drinking game. Every time you read, "coffee" feel free to drink. Drinking coffee will give you bonus points.}

For the past year, I meet with my Grandpa at least once a week and have coffee. My mom's side of the family has always had a strong connection with coffee. I don't think it would be a family get together without it.

I want to honor this tradition. I want to make sure that our wedding has that sweet homemade feel and part of home to me is coffee.

So we'll also be doing a coffee bar.

Just like most of our other projects, I want to keep it simple. We'll probably just hook up my machine and maybe my mom's too and let 'em go to town. If we need to make another pot mid-party... meh. Pretty sure the world won't end.

Recently (aka last week) I stopped drinking the flavored creamers like Coffeemate and International Delight. Really, I'm just not digging the cost and all of the chemicals that I can't pronounce. Instead I've started making my own creamer. (Big fat negative is that it doesn't last as long as those chemical-laden goodies but eh, that is just the cost of it).

I've been winging it pretty much when it comes to recipe. The latest batch I made is kind of a "peppermint mocha" kind of feel to it.  The rest of the recipe has a can of sweetened evaporated milk, a bunch of 2% milk, pure vanilla extract, a little bit of peppermint extract, and a little cocoa.

It wouldn't be hard to make a couple different flavors of creamer before W-day and make a sweet (pun intended) coffee bar. (Oh, and adding simple hot water & tea bags could mean that anyone opting out of coffee {gasp} could get their tea-on.)

I love this idea. It does mean that we would need to have a bunch of mugs, too. My first instinct of mix-match mugs from the thrift store (shocker, right?) .

Then I saw this...

How freakin' adorable, eh?  I love the initials on the glasses but I was even thinking that we could tweak the idea. Maybe take a little bit of humor to it and make some uber trendy mustache mugs?

Think of the adorable photo-ops. Or maybe I'm just dreaming of extra work.

How do you drink your coffee? A little bit of coffee with your creamer ? Think creamer is a crime against a nice cup of black jo?
